Andrea Bautista is a licensed massage therapist at Eastern Medicine Center in Scottsdale where she practices acupuncture and massage therapy.
A few years back a friend of hers changed his life through Native American Connections' outpatient service. Andrea decided she wanted to help both the Native American community and the recovery community.
Rather than just collecting up her old clothes and making a donation, she decided to take it one step further. Andrea made a special offer to her clients- if they donated new or gently used clothing, shoes or children's puzzles and games, they would receive $10 off their next treatment.
Andrea's clients responded quickly! Over the next few months she collected ten large bags of women's, men's and children's clothing, two boxes of shoes and a large bag of puzzles and games! Andrea's idea is a great one because it helps communities in need, like NAC and allows donors to receive a small token of appreciation for their donations.
The donated clothes and shoes will benefit the women and men at our state licensed residential treatment centers for substance abuse recovery and the games will go to the community centers at our various affordable housing properties.
Native American Connections is grateful for Andrea and community members like her!
