On June 10, twenty-one members of the Tribal Enrollment Team from University of Phoenix (UOP), generously volunteered their time to paint two rooms at Native American Connections' Guiding Star Residential Treatment Center for women in recovery from substance abuse.
The enthusiastic volunteers showed up on a Thursday afternoon ready to work! They volunteered through UOP's Employee Volunteer Program. The program encourages employees to find a non-profit organization that they would like to serve and allows them company time to lend their efforts to that organization.
The volunteers cleaned windows and doors throughout the property and painted a community room, where group activities and counseling take place as well as an administrative office. Both rooms were in need of improvements and turned out beautifully! The painted walls give new life to the rooms and have had a very positive impact on the lives of Guiding Star clients and staff.
The clients, NAC staff and Guiding Star team are thankful for the generous effort that the University of Phoenix volunteers put forth! Way to go UOP!
